Reading Is The Key!

 

The Alabama Reading Initiative (ARI) is a state funded K-12 comprehensive strategy to bring the best research on reading instruction and the best teaching practices into the classrooms.  The primary method is intensive, researched-based professional development for teachers. 

The vision of ARI is to have a 100% literacy rate for all school children. It targets three fronts:

  1. Strenthening reading instruction in the early grades.
  2. Continuously expanding all students' reading power and comprehenson levels.
  3. Intervening effectively with struggling readers.
